Position Overview
The Bookkeeping Assistant supports Equipt and its partner ministries by processing bills, reimbursements, deposits, vendor payments, and contractor records, while assisting the Accounting team with journal entries, reconciliations, and financial data entry.
This role plays a key part in supporting ministry leaders by ensuring financial records are accurate, organized, timely and consistent.
This position requires a motivated, detail-oriented individual who enjoys serving behind the scenes, can work both independently and collaboratively, and takes ownership with a high level of integrity and care.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
Process vendor invoices, payments, and reimbursements
Maintain accurate vendor records and contact information
Validate general ledger coding and ensure proper approvals
Manage recurring bills and subscription charges
Maintain weekly accounts payable schedules and deadlines
Process employee reimbursements
Communicate with partners regarding missing documentation
Maintain organized, audit-ready files
Bookkeeping & Reconciliation
Assist with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
Support journal entries and financial adjustments
Verify and record incoming wires
Provide support for financial audits
Assist with month-end close processes
Offerings & Deposits
Work with the Operations Coordinator to perform offering counts per internal controls
Enter offering batches and prepare deposits as assigned
Team Collaboration
Contribute to a culture of excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement
Support partners and team members
Help to accomplish ministry initiatives and projects
Qualifications
Required Experience
Active member of a local, gospel-centered church
Prior bookkeeping or finance experience
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Integrity in handling confidential information
Clear and professional communication
Able to work both independently and collaboratively
Results-oriented, with the ability to think through processes and propose solutions
Preferred Experience
QuickBooks Online or Desktop
Planning Center or donor processing
Ramp Bill Pay or other payables
Basecamp, Teams
Gusto or other payroll systems
Churches or nonprofit ministry support
Multi-entity or class-based accounting environments

Work Structure
Part-time role (20–28 hours/week), Monday–Friday during standard business hours, with some flexibility in scheduling within those hours
Hybrid work flexibility may be available based on weekly team needs and performance, but is not guaranteed
